US Ministry of Justice denied the request of Turkey for “Peace Petition” signatory Baki Tezcan to testify with rogatory, evaluating the academic’s action within freedom of expression. The Ministry indicated that in case no concrete evidence is presented on the accusation, the request can not be fulfilled. Istanbul 27th Assize Court issued a warrant against the academic, who works at California State University. The next hearing of the case will be held on March 9th.
